O.K. We finally got Kat D to accept that without her dedication to Texas Music and the mentorship of" Big" Bill Lister and so many other Artists, well, the TX LadyBugs would not exist. Kat D has resisted to having her name mentioned first, with 'AND THE' tagged on!
She says "We are all for one and one for all, together we stand and divided...we don't have good rehearsals or write new songs!"
TX LadyBugs started out with seven members Ashlee Rose Biesner, Bailey Renee Zoeller, Madge Rashell-Cribb, Ginger Pickett, Melinda Day Harper, Wave Harless and Katherine Dawn Jan. 15, 2010.
Recorded their discovery demo disc "First Rodeo" May of 2010 with six members Madge Rashell-Cribb, Melinda Day Harper, Wave Harless, Ginger Pickett, Kat D and new member Susan Taylor.
Although member Madge Rashell was still part of the band Aug. 28, 2010 when TXLB started the tracking of their debut record "Shake What Yer Mama Gave You' she left the group three months later and the band currently consists of the five original members.
Still seems like yesterday that the whole beautiful melodic mess started because of just two..."Big" Bill Lister and (LadyBug) Katherine Dawn, three months before "Big" Bill passed away on Dec. 1, 2010.
The band is almost complete with the debut record tracking at Loma Ranch Studios with Producer John Hill. Excited to share their journeys with Troubadour TX/41 EntertainmentTV Show and always but always preparing for the goals.

Recently Kat D said "The musical aspirations that gave me purpose, contribution and help to heal and celebrate thru musical fellowship between my peers, and people that was going on in my heart after almost 40 yrs of playing professionally, I was literally painfully aware of, and at the same time dedicated to my husband, children and family.
It would have been totally selfish of me to continue a solo career at the crossroads I was at in 2009. "Big" Bill understood and knew that, felt that, for and with me, and his advice to start an all female BAND was life changing. I would later realize that it was his last spoken advice to me on earth before he passed away.
The group of beings that make up the heart of what is now the TX LadyBugs is a much bigger, and stronger musical force, a medicine if you will that I never imagined or even anticipated...but "Big" Bill did!
WE have moved forward from so much already. Loss, illness, heart attack, cancer, empty pockets , good shows terrible shows, and we just keep meeting more people to celebrate, dance, cry and laugh with and make music for, not to mention the strong sense of sisterhood we have with eachother and with our fans. Don't Mess with Texas...LadyBugs!
It's not about the music we make as much as it is about what's made by the music. So I'll humbly accept the lead harness on this band wagon..I'll just blame it on Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, and every artist, roadie, radio dj and musical artist that I have worked with or was inspired by. It's all about passing it on isn't it?! There's alot to pass on too. Between all five of us we have over 200 yrs experience! It's not all about me and being on stage it's about what everyone contributes. The growth or delivery of a song, a recording, a performance, a meet and greet, a fundraiser, an interview. Without the dedication, talent and determination of Ginger Pickett, Melinda Day Harper, Wave Harless, Susan Taylor, Patti Witten, Morgan Harper, Darrell Hicks, Jimmie Jam, Bub, the understanding of our children, families, pets and significant others would simply not be possible it would all just be Bye Bye Miss American Pie!"
